Success Story

How CCHE Created A Workspace That Inspires

Frédéric Ducrest
Architect HES - Partner Member of the Board of Directors CCHE I Geneva

"We wanted the office to feel less cold, more inviting - somewhere that felt good to be in, not just to work in."

When CCHE moved into their new office, they had a clear vision: creating a space that will feel like more than just a workplace. They were striving for a warm, inviting atmosphere that would inspire both their collaborators and their visitors. As successful architects, they understand the power of design and how space can shape experience, foster creativity and enhance well-being. One final element  was missing to their transformation: a touch of greenery.

A Workspace That Feels Alive

"In our previous office, we had tried to introduce a few plants, but unfortunately they did not survive long!", recalls Frédéric Ducrest, Architect HES and Partner Board member for the Geneva office. Indeed, it became clear to his team that without proper care, the plants would not thrive. Therefore, when they designed their new office, they knew they needed a different approach - one that would integrate plants in the office, but in a way that was both effortless and visually pleasing.

Ultimately, the choice to partner with Oxygen at Work came down to a desire to vivify the space, and add more organic elements to highlight the architecture.

“We wanted the office to feel less cold, more inviting - somewhere that felt good to be in, not just to work in.”
Architecture Meets Nature

The outcomes soon became apparent. The carefully chosen greenery added some dynamics and texture to the space, all while seamlessly blending with the architectural lines. With their soft and organic presence, the plants provided a natural contrast to the precision of modern architecture.

"What is interesting is that while our choice was purely aesthetic, it ended up influencing the way we use the space," says Frédéric. "Visitors notice it immediately. It is one of the first things they comment on when they come into our office!"

A Seamless & Effortless Experience

For the CCHE team, maintaining this green oasis does not come at the cost of added effort. "The Greenery Team’s visits are smooth," Frédéric notes. "They come in, take care of everything, and leave without disrupting our workflow. At times, it seems as though the plants are caring for themselves!

Though the team does not actively use the data provided by the OxygenX dashboard, they appreciate the results. "Honestly, I never check the data myself," admits Frédéric with a laugh. "But if the air quality is really improving, that is great!"

As for the air quality sensors, they blend in so well with the space that Frédéric sometimes forgets they are even there—a testament to how effortlessly the system integrates into their office environment.

A Transformation Worth Sharing

After one and a half years of collaboration, Frédéric gives the Oxygen at Work’s service a flawless score of 10 out of 10. As a matter of fact, the team finds itself naturally sharing their good experience with clients!

"We appreciate our office so much that we often show them what we have done," Frédéric says. "It is a great example of how a well-designed environment, combined with the right elements, can completely change the way you feel in a space."

Final Note

For CCHE, architecture has always been more than just structure. It is about designing environments that inspire, live and change with the people who use them. With the addition of greenery, their workspace is not more than just a place to work in. It has evolved into a location where nature and architecture coexist in harmony to shape a space that is not only functional but truly alive.
