Hanging & Climbing Plants

Hanging and climbing plants for shelves, window fronts, phone booths and wall grids. From subtle to space-defining, fully designed and maintained by Oxygen at Work.
About Hanging & Climbing Plants

Green that moves

Hanging plants follow no fixed form. They grow, fall and trail. This mobility makes them versatile: as an overhanging accent on a shelf, as a natural curtain before a large window, as a climbing structure along a wall. Where other elements settle, hanging plants flow.

Application of the greening element

Hanging plants change the perception of a space in a way that barely any other greening element achieves. They guide the eye downward or upward. They create soft boundaries where hard edges are not desired. A Scindapsus aureum falling from a tall sideboard transforms a furniture surface into a living composition. A Philodendron scandens trained up a grid gives a wall depth and texture. In phone booths, hanging plants create a calm, natural atmosphere that supports concentrated work and makes the space more pleasant. In front of large window fronts they act as a natural privacy screen that filters light rather than blocking it. On shelf edges they set a finish that feels like a detail that was always there. We select species according to direction of growth, light conditions and desired density. From subtle to space-defining, the context determines that.

Contact Us →
Which plants are suitable for hanging?

Species with naturally trailing or climbing growth such as Scindapsus, Philodendron scandens or Monstera obliqua work best. We select the species based on location, light conditions and desired length of growth.

Can hanging plants also be used as a privacy screen?

Yes. Placed in front of window fronts or between work areas, dense hanging plants create a natural visual barrier that filters light rather than blocking it. We match the density of the planting to the desired level of privacy.

On which structures can climbing plants be trained?

Grids, wire cables, climbing frames or walls with suitable fixings. We design the training structure together with the greening element, so that both are coordinated with each other from the start.

How does one prevent hanging plants from growing too long?

Growth management and training are handled by us as part of regular care. We cut, train and shape the plants so that they remain within their intended effect.

Are hanging plants also suitable for phone booths?

Yes, particularly well. Compact hanging plants create in phone booths a calm, natural atmosphere that noticeably improves the sense of comfort when taking calls or working with concentration.
