March 2024: Office Air Quality Report - A Market Observation from Switzerland and Germany

Breathing New Life into Work Spaces

Welcome back to our monthly deep dive into the world of office air quality. Our mission is to unfold the layers of the air we breathe in workspaces and understand its impact on our day-to-day activities. March has brought us fresh data, offering insights into how our offices nurture or negate our productivity and health. Continuing from the comprehensive analyses of previous reports, we focus on how the unseen currents of air affect our work lives. With our expanded dataset, we further benchmark standards, propagate best practices, and unravel the intricacies of regional air quality variations. Let the foliage of facts in this report underscore the potential of plants in purifying our office atmospheres. 🧑‍🌾🌿

The Vitality of Indoor Air Quality in Offices

Just as a river needs to be clean to support an ecosystem, the air in an office must be pure to support its inhabitants. Monitoring indoor air quality is essential for maintaining the cognitive function and health of employees, ensuring that the workspace is not just a place of work but also a cradle of well-being.

Vital Metrics to Measure Indoor Air Quality in Offices

The air we breathe is as complex as it is vital. Measuring IAQ involves several parameters, including carbon dioxide for alertness, volatile organic compounds as chemical indicators, fine dust affecting our respiratory system, and other factors influencing our neurological and cardiovascular health.

March 2024’s Indoor Air Quality Parameters

In March, our sensors diligently recorded data to paint a detailed picture of the air that our clients breathe.

Data Background

The data collected comes from a total of 831 sensor devices, placed in different room types (open office spaces, private office spaces and lounge areas). To create the averaged values visualized above, we filtered standard office hours (Mo-Fr, 08:00-18:00).

How supportive was the Office Air in March for the Health of Employees?

March showed a promising Health Support score of 93 out of 100. This is a robust indicator of the commitment to maintain office environments that uphold the employees' health. The consistent level across the respiratory, dermatological, neurological, and cardiovascular parameters was quite remarkable.

How supportive was the Office Air in March for the Wellbeing of Employees?

Wellbeing Support stands commendably at 84. It suggests that the thermal and productivity parameters of the office environments are managed effectively to promote comfort and facilitate high performance. This directly influences the satisfaction and engagement levels of the workforce.

How supportive was the Office Air in March for the Safety of Employees?

Safety in the workplace is a top priority, and this month's score is a solid 84. Our offices remain vigilant spaces, safeguarding against fire and airborne illnesses. With the fluctuating factors of fire and airborne viral safety well-monitored, we stand on guard for the well-being of every individual.

How Plants can help you to get your Indoor Air Quality Right

Plants are the unsung heroes in the fight for cleaner air. They take on the carbon dioxide we exhale, regulate humidity levels, and can even absorb toxins, making them a critical element in our IAQ strategy. Incorporating plant life into office design is a simple step towards profound health benefits.

In the spirit of growth and improvement, we continue to champion healthy, sustainable, and supportive office environments. As spring approaches, we're planting the seeds for not just better air, but better workplaces. Stay with us as we cultivate a greener, more breathable future. 🌱
