The office plant quartet by Oxygen at Work
What is Plant Duel?
Plant Duel is a trump-card quartet about real office plants from our projects. Two to six players compete against each other and compare the plants’ height, width, water evaporation and rarity. Whoever cleverly chooses categories and collects the strongest cards wins the duel. Whoever collects the most or all the cards, wins the game.
How does Plant Duel work?

Preparation
Before the game begins, all cards are thoroughly shuffled and dealt out completely to the players. If the number of cards is not divisible by the number of players, the remaining cards are placed face up in the middle. Each person holds their stack of cards face down in their hand and only the top card may be looked at by the respective player. The person to the left of the dealer begins. To speed up the game, an optional time limit can be set.
Game Play
The starting player looks at their top card and chooses a category (Height, Width, Water Evaporation, Rarity) with which they believe they will win the round. They announce this category and its value out loud. Then all other players also reveal their top card and compare the value in exactly this category. The player with the highest value wins the round, takes all revealed cards and places them under their own stack, including any cards that may be lying in the middle. The winner of the round is also next in line to choose a new category from their next top card. The game continues in this way around the table.
If it happens that two or more players have the same highest value in the chosen category, a tie occurs. In this case, all revealed cards are placed face up in the middle of the table and no one receives them immediately. The same starting player now draws their next card, chooses a category again and everyone once more reveals their top card. The player who wins this round receives all cards from the current round as well as the additional cards lying in the middle.
End of the Game
The game ends when one person owns all the cards and thus has won Plant Duel. If a time limit was set, the player with the most cards when time runs out wins.
